There is a time and a place for everything. That’s one of the old sayings that seem to fit in pretty well with any situation. Another phrase that is commonly throw around that also makes sense in most situations is: “everything in moderation.” These two phrases can be applied to the concept of accident compensation very well.

When is the right time to pursue accident compensation? Well this is one thing that should never be the first course of action a person would take. Unfortunately, many times this is the first course that people want to take though. I guess you could say that we live in a “sue happy” society. And I’m sure it has something to do with the way that legal firms advertise.

This is where the temperance and moderation parts come in. You see if you have been injured because of another party’s liability often things can be worked out between both parties instead of paying lawyers to get involved. Generally people want to do the right thing. And this includes taking responsibility for their actions without having to be forced to via a lawsuit. Of course there is a time and a place where one may need to sue, and that is why these systems are in place.

I have to agree with you that taking legal action should not be the first thing you do. While accidents often are the fault of a third party, there has to be some personal responsibility as well.

Is this really such a big issue? I thought insurance companies just dealt with everything. Is it common for one driver to sue another after an accident?

I have to disagree with this comment as it does not take into account those people who are injured in Road Traffic Accidents on our roads every day. Whose only recourse is to pursue accident compensation for such injuries as minor whiplash to those that are life threatening.
