I was hit by a guy running a red light and wasn’t seriously injured but expect to be very sore for a couple of weeks. I am an actor and under contract to perform a live show, so taking time off is not an option- it would end my career in this town, so I have to work in pain. Also, I am unable to use painkillers or muscle relaxers due to a history with drug abuse, so the pain is full on. I don’t feel the need to contact an attorney, but feel I should be compensated somewhat for this guy’s negligence.

I got into an accident last week. My Honda Civic is a total loss after the collision. The person who collided with my car is at fault. Knowing how insurance companies like to lowball people, I expect that they would offer a low price for compensation. Is it possible to negotiate the compensation? Any good tips with negotiating?
Just to add, the car has low mileage (50,000 km for a 9 year car) and looks pretty much brand new prior to the accident. That’s why it would be a shame if I get only a small compensation for it.

Got in accident. Someone hit two side doors of mine and a fender and then ran. The police was able to track the person down and now I got their insurance. Their insurance company has agreed to pay for the damages and it came down to about $2100. I was curious if there is a way to have insurance company pay for the loss of car value? They agreed to pay only for the repairs saying that the car does not loose its value if it is repaired properly. I mean if I try to sell this car right now (it is a 2004 Chrysler Sebring), I would not get a full resale price because the car was in the accident.
